i just put a 11.5 rear 19 wheels with 63 offset. seems to be perfect for clearance without any major rubbing, I think the passenger side camber needs slight adjustment for fender clearance, on the worse bumps with passenger I get very slight rubbing with 315/25 tires.

I have a 10.5 and 305/25R19, lowered with PSS10. Never a rub, even with the car loaded to the max. I'm sure an 11 would fit also. Ruey is the first I've heard with an 11.5 on a NB.

CCW makes 12" wide rears that go under a narrow body. Lots of GT3 guys using them. However, you'll need to custom order from them or another custom wheel maker to get the 12" to work back there.

It's all in the offset. there's actually alot of inward room in the rear which is where all the extra width goes. I don't think they sit out any further than properly fitting 11' rears do.

i have heard of people doing 12's in the rear, but it would have to be really precise. Considering my rubber at 315/25 clears without any problems on 11.5's, i doubt that the .5 inch would cause much problems on the same tire, especially considering at this point i haven't rolled the insider of the fenders.

Isn't more important to fit the maximize size tire you want then work backwards?

If you are looking at a 315 then a 11" would fit fine with the proper offset.

Good point C2! There is not a wider tire that specs out than a 315/25 for our cars. No point in getting the wider wheel.

are you saying it doesn't matter if the tire isn't stretched out to the maximum possible? if so, why would they make wider wheels then. the GT2 recommended spec is 19x12 rear for 315/25. they could have easily said 19x11 if that was the case.

also if it doesn't make a difference for looks, the .5 inch makes it look more aggressive. i can tell you that the look is similar to how some people put 10mm spacers just to make the wheels look more aggressive.

wider wheel with same size tire looks worse to me. having the tire stretched out to fit the rim looks less aggressive in my opinion. A narrower wheel (11inch) with a wide beefy tire filling the whole wheel width looks a lot more aggressive to me. Just my two cents. I have 19x11 997 turbo wheels with offset for NB and have 305/30/19 and they look pretty good. Handling is incredible! I'd like to know how much wider I can go in the front to get that same filled in feeling on the wheel. Any thought on a 19x9 inch front wheel...whats the widest tire you can put in front?

In fact what I'd really like to do is put 17s all around and then maximize the widest I can go with that. Wondering if anyone has put 17inch wheels on their 996 and played around with wide tires?
