I am in no way affiliated with the seller (Porsche of North Houston/Lamborghini of Houston) so please direct any questions or comments to them.
Anyways, I was speaking with my salesperson at Porshe of NH this morning and he mentioned he had a new 2011 GT2 RS sitting on his showroom floor. Apparently, this car was delivered at the El Toro event, driven onto a trailer right outside the airfield gates and immediately sold to the dealership.
It is listed by Lamborghini of Houston (link below) which was recently purchased by the owner of Porsche of North Houston recently. As a result, I believe the car is physically at the Porsche dealership but can be sold by either store.
Anyways, just thought someone on here might find this interesting.

Again, I have nothing to do with this car other than the fact that someone at the dealership mentioned it to me today. Have a great Friday!

Having spoken with sales people at several dealerships, Porsche didn't have any intention of sending cars to the US that weren't part of their very limited presale or being directly delivered to special customers.
By faking the purchase and putting it on a showroom floor it is more likely to end up in the hands of a real enthusiast than Porsche had intended in the US market. If you wanna blame someone for the lack of availability, blame Porsche for being snobs about who they think deserves their cars.
